Oh yeah, it's totally on the same level because they said that another horror game has spin offs, so why shouldn't SH?

Seriously, what kind of complaint is that? If he said that Fatal Frame has spinoffs it would be the same thing.
You totally got that wrong, besides Tomm is the reason why SH didn't went into action horror route, so yeah, I'm glad he threats the series the way he does, putting new interesting stuff and not trying to be like first 4 games without going into action horror route.

Besides, don't you remember that first SH was created to compete with Resi series, it certainly drew some influence in gameplay from it. Resident Evil series were good survival horror games and older games still are good.

But, like I said, you totally got that wrong, he doesn't mean that they're on the same level or something.

Never understood the whole thing where you weren't allowed to like both SH & RE, lol. People do forget that SH was created by Konami primarily to compete with RE back in the day.

No wonder he treats the series the way he does...

How exactly does he treat the series? I've seen him constantly passionate about it, willing to interact with fans even when he consistently gets brutal treatment from them. He stopped some bad stuff goin' on in Homecoming, and Book of Memories is supposed to be a love letter to the fans who don't mind a little bit of change that won't affect the main series itself.

Not to mention that Silent Hill was created as a response to Resident Evil. You're allowed to like both.

Heaven forbid someone create a spinoff in a series that has already had spinoffs.

In the past, I was kinda a hater of this game, but the E3 previews helped win me over. I do love Top/Down games like Dead Nation, so of course I'll give Silent Hill BoM a go!

I forgot about Dead Nation. I played the piss out of that game last year. Didn't expect to have that much fun with it, honestly, but me and my friends just kept at it. Wish it had support for 4 players, though.

Yeah, Dead Nation was a very nice surprise; got the expansion too, but wish they would do a full blown sequel

There was an expansion? That must've been the DLC I saw in the Store a while back. Is it any good? Might pick it up some day.

Well, its more of the same in one hand (not a bad thing), but it doesn't end. More of a 'how far can you get before you die' kinda set up

When I first saw the game I was like.. "OMG WHAT ARE U DOING TO SH, THIS IS NOT SH THIS IS SOME HARRY POTTER/DIABLO BS! That view has not changed. As long as this is just a spin off for the Vita im fine with it. The worry is if it succeeds more than DP Konami could cash in on this new formula..

I can't help but think: when did Harry Potter and Diablo ever have anything to do with one another?

I'm planning on getting a Vita, now, so I'll definitely be getting this game :)

@Mike; they don't. They were making the comparison to Diablo's top-down perspective and the obvious magical-looking aspects to some of the attacks (which I can definitely see, too).

I was excited to get a Vita earlier, but now PS3 games are taking precedence.

I guess I'll be waiting around until a price cut (which may happen soon).

I really don't understand why people have such a big problem with this game. SH had spinoffs before and they weren't bashed so much.

Resident Evil had spinoffs and people don't really bash them.

Like most, just intrigued with it. Though, not sure about the Vita... Not cause of the game, just that i already have the PSP, I dont feel the need for another, personally. Kind of hope they release it for the Portable too. If they do, then I'll buy it. :)

I spent some time playing around with a display Vita at a Best Buy, and I ended up really wanting to get one, heh heh! Although, the more I think about it, the more it seems like a waste to buy one. I mean, it'd be neat for awhile, but then I'd never play it. My PSP has done nothing but draw a charge and collect dust for most of it's life.

Because those spinoffs are pretty obscure(only released in Japan, or for cellphones). So to a lot of uninformed people, this is the first SH spinoff ever made.

While I'm not doing back flips in anticipation for it, I'm still intrigued to give it a go. My current standpoint is that it will be a rental first and foremost, and if it exceeds expectations, then perhaps make that purchase. At the same time, the dry season (for video games) is almost over, and plenty of good games are set for release in the coming months.

boicot to this... this is an insult not only to the series but to people as consumers of a product... the graphics are crap, the story is total crap... only the music is somewhat good, the rest is beyond any forgivness.

Konami needs to know that they can't just put this huge load of shit in our assholes and expect to take it just like that.
the HD collection should've been the last drop.

So, uh, you've played the game on your Vita, right? So you know the full extent of the story? You've seen the graphics first-hand? Huh, let me know where I can get a copy!

But seriously, I'm not excited for this game. It'll likely fall forgotten into the background of the series after a few weeks. That being said, if I ever get a Vita, I'll probably pick it up.
