Silent Hill: Book of Memories Original Soundtrack

Post by jam6i on Fri Apr 20, 2012 7:44 pm

I simply love the two tracks released so far, and have been waiting latiently for my order to arrive. In the meanwhile I've been looking all over the internet for a download, but one simply doesn't exist.

I should start posting here more often, rather than helldescent. I love that place, but it seems so judgmental and aggressive sometimes, not only towards each other but towards the developers. It makes me sad Tomm quit participating there, but I totally understand why.

I live this album so far and can't wait to get my copy.

Hey, that's only because of small number of people, really small. With all due respect it's not THAT MUCH different here.

There are way too many cheerleaders on HD these days. It has turned into a bunch of flamewars between people who are pro-dev and anti-dev. I see no reason for acting either way. The forums have devolved into back and forth battles, rather talking about the games and their stories. It sucks, honestly.

Really loving this OST so far(just to stay on topic).

I'm listening the crap out of the two songs so far available. People need to show Now We're Free some loving as well, that's one fine SH tune.

And it's true that HD has a tendency to spiral into flamewars or finger pointing arguments, and there is way too much dev hatred there. Sure, I question the logic behind Book of Memories, and i have no interest in playing it since it's such a strange departure. However my indifference is towards BoM, not the developers.

i am shocked that there isn't a download yet anywhere online. I've got mine ordered, but I still want a download during the interim.

I like Now We're Free as well, but I prefere Love Psalm. Anyway both are great, again Mary did an amazing job! She really makes part of Silent Hill's soul

I got my copy from Amazon, and good lord is this soundtrack sexy!

I was at first indifferent to the titles, but they kind of fit the flow of the music on the album.

I find it rather unfortunate that while the album is fantastic, I have near 0% expectation or interest in the game. Until it proves me otherwise and it turns out to be anything other than terrible, i wont' have any interest in it. This is the first time in Silent Hill's entire history my expectation and interest for a game was lower than 99%.

The soundtrack has proven to me that the game may actually be worthwhile.

To be honest, I hope I am 100% wrong about the game, and Book of Memories forces me to eat my shorts. It sould thrill me so much if BoM managed to completely change my opinion. I want to be wrong SO BADLY.

I beg to differ. Seems more like a case of you trying to push theories (and in the case of SH2 not having any sexual themes - fibs) as cold fact, but you became discouraged just because not everybody automatically eats up every little thing you have to say Silent Hill.

This following post of yours from that topic doesn't exactly speak in your favor:

Pyramid_Heart wrote:Although this isn't my original screen name, most every theory that people follow these days(pre-dating the translation of Lost Memories) originated from me, or conversations I participated in on Silent Hill Forum and/or Silent Hill Heaven. That was a world ago and I don't remember any of you fans even being there.

Hell, Nygma was still shitting his pants when this series started!

This forum has devolved into a bunch of dev team cheerleadering and it's embarassing. I invite you all to try harder. Being a Silent Hill fan used to mean that you were the smartest nerds in gaming.

The fact that you resort to a twelve year old's wording "cheerleaders" doesn't really paint a positive image of you. So it's probably best that you just be quiet on this particular subject from here on out lest you subject yourself to posting more eye rolling gibberish.

Anyway, on the subject of the soundtrack, I haven't gotten around to looking up the rest of the songs other than what was posted on the Appreciation fanpage. I'll get around to it eventually.

The game might just surprise you, Jam6i. You know how the OST is different from all previous SH soundtracks, and yet it still feels completely SH?

The soundtrack undeniably has given me some optimism about the game. If Mr. Lict and everyone involved felt that this game deserved a fantastic accompanying soundtrack, then there must be something about the game that makes it worthwhile after all.

This game has received more dedication and attention to the soundscape than Downpour got, so that must be indicative of SOMETHING.

Is it just me or is there something odd sounding about Now We're Free? Especially when she keeps saying Now We're Free, sounds like she's too close to the mic or something and it hurts my ears cause it sounds distorted. I'm talking about the CD btw, not youtube vids. Other than that the song is great.

I've not had any problems with it.

The only thing that I found strange in the music were the first words that Mary says, it was very hard to me to understand what she was saying, only with lyrics I could get it.
I have these pages torn and crumbled on the floor
When we were younger (I couldn't understand this part)
I have a heavy heart
it doesn't want to start
to love you again

It's just "when we were younger". She draws the "er" out.
