What's so wrong with wanting to just enjoy the game?

Post by Noname6 on Mon Apr 09, 2012 2:08 am

It is certainly fine to enjoy this collection for the sake of enjoying it. However, as someone who played these games as they came out the flaws are striking in their total lack of professionalism. I'm not so sure that this would have been acceptable in the past, but flaws are flaws and they detract from the whole experience of the games. As for persecuting other fans for liking this collection or the later Silent Hill titles, I don't care. I unapologetically think that everything after The Room is mediocre and doesn't even belong in the whole mythos, but that's just my opinion. Other people may think otherwise and that's fine. To each their own.

Oomi wrote:I really enjoyed my experience with SH2 & had no issues. Born From a Wish also went pretty smoothly. SH3 was another story, though. I had a loading issue that lead me to dashboarding after 5 minutes of waiting & I had to restart my xbox when the game froze while I was attempting to use an item in my inventory. But, after about 4 days of gameplay I only experienced those issues with SH3. Other than those 2 hiccups I've had a great time playing these games overall. :) Only real complaint I have is that I wish you had the option of the original voice actors in SH3 as well.
Also, I understand that some people in the fanbase can be frustrating to talk to. The only thing you can really do is ignore them. Some people might say I'm not a real Silent Hill fan 'cause I only got into the series roughly 5 months ago & Homecoming was the first game I played. I don't care what sort of bullcrud they spew my way, however. I'm a SH fan regardless of what they have to say. :P
And, you enjoying your gaming experience with the HD Collection doesn't make you any less of a fan. I get that a big majority of the fanbase is less than thrilled, but if someone attempts to convince you you're not a SH fan, or belittles you for liking the game, they're a belligerent fool. They are trying to cram their perspective down your throat with little to no respect for the fact you're an individual with a different point of view. As I said earlier in this post, it's better to ignore those types, ya?

The best way to handle TSK's is to pretend they don't exist, so keep on keepin', Oomi ;).

Yep, I agree, Nar. I hope I was able to convey that to the poster of this thread. :P
