Silent Hill 2 *noob question*

Post by Ramen~ on Sun Aug 05, 2012 6:48 am

For some reason, I can't load saved data. I go in Silent hill 2 screen, all I see is "New game and options". I've played Silent hill 2 for a bit, and saved it plenty of times. For Silent Hill 3, it has load option and I haven't even touched that one lol.

It would help to know which platform you're using. Each one handles save files in quite different ways.
The above post is intended to be factual, unless it isn't.

Thought it might be obvious... PS3.

Clearing Cache? *I'm a noob to the PS3 as well, I don't have playstation network or w/e, I just play the games as they are. No special monthly fee to pay or w/e.

Just to add as well, this is for Silent Hill HD Collection : lol.

Just wait for a few seconds. The load options don't show up right away.

=/ Damn.... They should really fix the quality. Quick things I like to point out *might be obvious*

Radio sounds like dubstep *clink clik*, it's annoying, so I turned it off.
Silent Hill 3 doesn't look so bad, some lag here and there but god it looks great =)
New voices are pretty awesome, more like their age as well. Except that one fat guy in SH2... eww.

Yeah, the HD collection has more than a few technical issues. That's why I haven't really played it much.

Btw--Welcome to the forum, deary. Did you join to lean a little about Silent Hill..?

It looks like things are getting too spicy for the pepper.

Not to lean but learn sure. LOL! Umm, yes I just joined.

I love silent hill, one of my favorite games to play, but I like playing with other people around, when I do it alone, I have nightmares LOL!

Hi Ramen, is your PS3 connected to the internet? Because if it is, you could create yourself a Playstation Network (PSN) account. It's completely free, doesn't cost a penny, and gives you access to playing online games, the PS store, Home, and firmware/software updates (you can upgrade your PSN account to Playstation Plus which is subscription based). With regards to the Silent Hill HD Collection, having a PSN account would be advantageous, because then you could sign in and download the freely available patch to rectify SHHDC's many issues. I don't know if your saved game issue will be fixed by this, but the games as a whole will certainly perform and look better. If you'd like more info, here's a link to a thread about the patch http://silenthillcommunity.com/viewtopic.php?f=3328&t=433832. The patch wasn't live at the beginning of this thread so you'll have to search through several posts until you find the relevant bit. Hope this helps :)

@Ramen~ do you have a wi-fi router? If so, you won't need an ethernet cable as the PS3 has in-built wi-fi. But I guess it all comes down to how close your PS3 is to your modem/router and how powerful the router is. Ultimately, an ethernet cable between your PS3 and modem will give you the best internet connection. That being said, my PS3 connects to the internet via wi-fi. It's about 2 metres away from the router and the signal travels through a brick wall, and I've never had any connection problems.

@Ramen~ no worries about it all being new. I'm no technical wiz but I'm happy to help if you need any more info :)

Make sure you're using your own user login account. I played it on my gf's login at first and forgot. I thought my save vanished.
