Please, for the love of God, someone tell me this is a photo of Pyramid Head from the first movie incredibly Photoshopped onto this scene. No really, that pose PH is doing: Is that from the first movie? This movie will lose 100 credibility points if PH is back in the film. Seriously. Not cool. Someone debunk this with a side-by-side shot of PH in the same exact pose from the first film. ...please?

It looks like a 'shop' job to me.

Turns out it's legit, then agreed. Right on all accounts.

I'm being optimistic and assuming it's some sort of flash back fantasy.

It looks like things are getting too spicy for the pepper.

Exactly! I wonder, though, if it will tie in with Valtiel or not (if he shows up in the movie).

***EDIT***
I just saw the hi-res version... It lookes like he's turning a crank.........................................................

Yeah, plus you've got those gears behind him. Also, I don't think the helmet he's got is as big as the one PH in the first film was wearing (unless it's just the perspective). I'm betting on it being Valtiel if it isn't a shop job.

Valtiel doesn't wear a helmet and that is most definitely PH (because of aforementioned helmet). It's the same stitched up skin robe PH wore in the previous movie, also. It seems he's replacing Valtiel as the valve turner.

I mean... why? Konami knows not to put PH in any more SH games (from various interviews on Downpour). Why can't they carry that logic over to the movie? Why not let Valtiel shine? Why does this bug me so much? So many questions.

Now, even that sounds retarded. :?

C'mon, he just disappears inexplicably for the whole 2nd half of the first movie. What importance would he possibly serve...

*flies Silent Evil the bird*

What importance did he serve in the *first* movie? OMG!FANSERVICE!BLOODANDGORE!!LOL!!! I was going off of Heather remembering things through her mother's eyes. I don't remember what her "witch powers" specifically were in the first movie.

They might be tying him in with Valtiel, they might just be dumb asses, and it might just be a very convincing photo shop. It doesn't really matter at this point, because we're all just speculating.

It looks like things are getting too spicy for the pepper.

It would be better if they use Valtiel instead of Pyramid head. It looks like pyramid head is now something comercial.

I don't get the big issue you guys are having with this. Heather + Vincent relationship is just dandy, but if the movie has Pyramid Head in it, it's ruined? The damage was done when Pyramid Head made his appearance in the first film, deal with it. He's pretty much established as a denizen of the film's nightmare world. His presence was entirely unexplained and unneeded in the first film, so why would anyone in their right mind expect him not to return in the subsequent films considering how iconic he is? Many people who haven't even played the game series think he's scary and badass.

Whether you like it or not, PH is seemingly a fixture of the Silent Hill movie series. I don't see why that's a problem though... anyone who accepted his unexplained presence in the first film should logically have no gripes about his presence in the sequel.

I never accepted his unexplained presence so I see no need for him to return. And, again, it ought to be Valtiel's turn to shine. He was one of the main dudes in SH3 the game so why not the movie it's based off, also? Also, a Heather and Vincent relationship would be one of the most bass-ackwards things SH has done to date, to me.

Except for pretty much everything in Shattered Memories!
The above post is intended to be factual, unless it isn't.

That... is actually a very good point. At least, Harry and Dahlia being a thing in that game, anyways.

Well then it's unfortunate for you that this happens to be the sequel to the first movie containing PH just for the sake of being "cool".

This film is a sequel to the original movie first, a SH3 adaptation second. So if you didn't like the first one, chances are very high that you're not gonna like this one either.

I'd rather see Valtiel too, don't get me wrong, but they're probably just gonna shoehorn Pyramid Head into that role to please the fans of the first film who aren't intimately familiar with the game series.

I guess one reason for him being there is purely for marketing purposes. As much as us fans hate another pointless apearance from Mr. Head I guess he has become something of a recognisable series mascot even to people who don't know didley about Silent Hill. The film's got to sell, I guess as as fans need to reach some sort of comprimise.

Not true. That one didn't have a back on it. His butt was hanging out...
Still, PH could probably turn the valves a lot easier, no? Always swinging his wang--er, knife around.

Valtiel actually appeared in how many scenes, though? Meaning if you didn't die once, how many times do you even see him?

I imagine it'll make a lot of fanfiction writers very happy.

Don't get mad, though, come on. Does this really look like the Pyramid Head from SH2 anyways? I'd say this one is about as original as the armless man. Sure, you can compare it to the lying figure, but it's not the same and definitely doesn't mean the same. It's a similarly-designed, popular creature that's been adapted for the film's story.

BTW not meaning to pick on Ratiocinator!

PH is the executioner. How hard would it be to write some reason into the plot? I admit I don't like the changes. I'm not saying I liked him in the first film, he was sort of summoned by Dhalia, who was good now? He is now taking Valtiel's place? How hard would it be to have Valtiel do what he needs to do, and PH does his?

You have to keep in mind that the film universe is separate from the game universe. Although I'd argue that PH in the first film still fulfilled his in-game role as a manifestation of punishment, his history was certainly different, being directly manifested from Alessa. Valtiel was directly tied into The Order, which hasn't been in the films so far. So in the film universe, it makes more sense for PH to be there. Besides, the majority of the audience will be people who saw the movie but never played the games, so putting in Valtiel would just make them think he was a cheap replacement for PH. In short, I'm totally fine with this. And Kumatei, Dahlia didn't summon him. The scene can get a bit confusing, but she was just doing the cult's equivalent of flipping Anna the bird. Later on in the movie we see other cult members, such as Cristabella, repeating the same gesture.

Also, just a theory: maybe he's running the carousel?

That crank he's got in his hand makes the carousel spin! Whee!

I think it would make no sense if the second film had no PH. We need to keep in mind that this movie is in fact attached to the first one. I'm sure the director disliked his appearance in the first film as much as we did, but the crime has already been committed and they can only do so much damage control.

Am I the only one who is starting to wish these people would stop taking pictures and spoiling scenes? I'm curious about what will be in the movie too, but I'd like to find out the fun way!
