A little about me: My name is Miranda and I've been a fan of the series since pretty much the beginning. My sister loaned SH1 from a friend when it came out; I was still a kid at the time, and one of my favourite things to do was to snuggle up on the couch with my mother and watch my sister play it. I've been a fan ever since.
Silent Hill 1 will always be my favourite in the series, probably because it was the first one I ever saw. I've been wanting to make my own games for a while now (like I'm sure a lot of gamers do) and it was when I was having an SH discussion with my sister sometime last year that this idea popped into my head. I've been pretty much obsessed with this concept ever since. I even played around with Unity and made a prototype so that I could test some things out and get myself inspired.
I'll post a few screenshots - although I have to warn you that the graphics are really bad, because I'm not the best with these kinds of things lol.

My idea: Not quite a remake, but more of a return to the original game. I'd love to explore the concept of Alessa's story - even though, yes, we already know it. But we only know it from a sort of outside perspective.
My idea was that you play as Alessa, and you see her side of the story as she's rushing around town trying to place the Seals everywhere. You have to avoid confrontations with the various monsters, keep her from going mad (various monster interactions and other things will have an actual toll on her sanity), and you have to journey through her insane world and, in addition, a new level/dimension. I was worried that too much of the "nightmarish Otherworld" would make it get old pretty fast and, thus, far less scary, so I wondered if maybe Alessa could have an extra level/dimension, an even more horrifying and insane world to fight through - a dimension exclusive only to her since she is the one with God in her womb.
I was hoping that returning to the first game in this way will give us a new way to remember/rediscover what made us so scared of Silent Hill in the first place. I know there'll be some of you who won't like this idea, and that's totally fine, but I'm hoping that there'll be others that do like this idea. Obviously I've got a lot more written down on what could be implemented in the game and such, I'm just really hesitant to write it all down in an introductory post lol.
My problem is that I can't do this alone. I'm so bad with programming and stuff - my only real talent is writing. So I was hoping to build a team of fellow SH fans who can work on this game with me, so that, together, we can build something good. Whether you can help with textures or writing or level design or music, whatever, anything that could help. (Unfortunately, everything will have to be volunteer-based only, meaning I can't really pay anyone for the work. I am but a poor person.)

Making an edit to say: I know this is quite an ambitious project, and that there might be certain things (legal issues, etc) that could get in the way of it.
