Some years ago, in 2008, I wondered how a Silent Hill fan made videogame would look like. After some Photoshop on one of my friends who offered himself as the main character and Ruby scripting on RPG Maker XP to make him move around, interact with objects and light on/off his lantern, I had something going on there.
The project was dead for almost two years but in later 2010 I decided to work on this Project again. The game's engine is almost finished. The game's going to be developed in 2D, with graphics in 3D and the feeling of the old Silent Hill games because I loved Team Silent's first games and I'm kinda tired about the recent entries in the franchise.
Currently we're working with many people around the globe to make this a reality (People from Australia, Bolivia, USA, Mexico, Brasil). In fact, it's already been stated we are something like a "Fan/Indie Team Silent". (We've got story/scenario writers, musicians, character/monster designers and programmers).
So far we've got our own story, characters, Original Soundtrack!, scenarios and a great RMXP based engine.

It's possible if we all work on it, basically it's the same design as the characters. And thanks a lot for your help offer. Let's make the story first, and according to that, we do the monster and puzzle design. Why? Because it's the way to get symbology ala Team Silent
MetalManS72 wrote:First question: Are you planning on having the main character starting off in Silent Hill? Or will he start somewhere else and be drawn towards it?
I'll leave that to you SH enterprisers I have an open mind and I'm willing to change the story if what you propose is really good
MetalManS72 wrote:Also, the graphics design is great! wish I could do that...
I'm studying the possibility for the game to have such graphics. Everyone be prepared! Big surprise coming soon...

More than happy to help secretly, I'm...very lonely hehehe

I don't take surprises well...not since playing RE2 damn stupid zombie hands, bursting through the damn barricade...*falls into unintelligible rambles*

Thanks a lot MetalMan, I really appreciate your help so far. Check your inbox
I'm gonna release the demo I've been working on so hard in a few weeks, there's A LOT of photoshoping to do, but the results are amazing. Just in case you don't believe me I'll upload some pictures on my Silent Hill site after posting this.
JAGTxelUM wrote:Quite frankly, I thought I was gonna have more help from the largest SH forum: SH Community -_-
I think a lot of people are jaded on the whole idea since so many fangames have been started or discussed and never completed. Also, I think many people don't have the necessary experience with things like modeling and coding, so they can't help with that. And there is less traffic on sh forums in general when it's been a while since a new game has come out; there will probably be more interest in such things with SH:D comes out and people return to sh forums more often.
And yeah, I know many, many, many projects go into oblivion because sometimes it feels you really need to rest a little bit because your head's gonna explode at any moment and believe me, I've dedicated many months, particularly all last January to the game sacrificing many personal stuff and I've definitely improved it a lot, and yet still it's too much work for a person and that's why I wanna release at least a playable demo, that's my primary objective, I'll see after that. It's as you said in one of your posts: "It's much too ambitious for only one person".
SH Community IS HELPING as well as other communities I won't mention here, because I'm not asking help for coding or 3D design/modeling only.
Regarding the number of visitors you're totally right, I couldn't agree with you more, thanks for that clear explanation
Yay! Work!! hehehe But, in all honesty, I'm excited to get to work on it. If you want, I can write some songs/ambience for the game as well. It's a strange habit, offering to do heaps of stuff...but I rarely get these opportunities.
Your SH Podcast Idea is great indeed (I've been following it since December last year, I think it was #5 then), you just need to advertise it more and probably add some SH sounds/grunts/tunes between each new/note. That would make it more ear appealing for the SH fan. This is just my opinion anyway. Keep up the good work and thanks once again
