A Silent Hill Fan Video Game Project

@Alice: I understand where you're coming from, but instead of making something to give to Konami, you should make something for fans to enjoy. It's just a stretch to get them to pick up a specific idea rather than constructive criticism on the newer games is all. Nur has the biggest words of wisdom right now. A group of people worked on that game as it transformed over the years and it was hard to get a whole lot done. Even picking up something like RPG Maker can be a giant hassle unless you know what you're doing or you're willing to spend many, many hours learning without actually working yet. Good luck on the project though! I'm starting to get into 3D myself.

Thank you so much. It's something I've realized, and lately I've been heavily considering going to school for making video games, as I can see it being something I could do. Currently, I've been trying to learn Unity and Blender, I honestly find Blender much easier, but both are still pretty intense.

This definitely is a project for the fans by the fans. The goal is just to get a demo done, while still hacking away at the full length game.

Thank you for your supportive words. =D

Why not just start out with something simple to present to the fans and not Konami? Unless you have the right funds for this project (I'm sure up to par programmers and graphic designers will not work for free), just use something more simple like RPG Maker. It's not impossibly hard to use, anybody can learn to use it and it doesn't even have to play like an RPG. I'm developing a fangame (Silent Hill: Remembrance) using this engine and I'm the only one working on it, with the exception of voice actors, and I'm actually getting stuff done!

Yeah, that's the goal right now, just to do a simple fan project. What RPG Maker are you using?

And thank you for being incredibly helpful. =D =D =D

I'm most familiar with RPG Maker XP, if you need any help with your game let me know. I can do everything from mapping to eventing, making tilesets and character sets, create music, and write (but I realize you already have three writers hahaha)

That would be brilliant! Thank you so much! We have pretty much everything but someone to actual do any programming, which is a major bummer, so that'd be really helpful. You can PM me if you'd like to discuss more specific things and answer any questions you may have. =D
