Hi. Im new here. If this topic is at the wrong place, i am sorry in advance. And im sorry for the long topic.

I been experimenting with SweetFX for long time. After ReShade are released, i had been experimenting with it even since. And now with ReShade version 2, the preset are much more easily to share with others. I hope you guys can give a few feedback and maybe help to improve with my preset.

My aim is to made Silent Hill 2 look like next gen (maybe current gen, i dont know). Shader are listed in order;

    FineSharp
    AdaptiveSharpen
    Grain
    AmbientOcclusion (SSGI)
    DepthOfField (MCFLY ADVANCED DOF)
    Bloom
    Levels
    ToneMap
    Vibrance
    Dither
    AmbientLight
    FXAA
    SMAA

PLUS with my AMD Radeon Crimson Graphic Card Custom Profile:
(not sure if have placebo effect, try at your own risk with your graphic card profile setting)

    OVERRIDE 8xEQ, Edge-Detect, Supersampling AA
OVERRIDE 16x Filtering Level HIGH Texture Filtering Quality
    OVERRIDE 64x Tessellation Level

Performance hit will happen even with my AMD A10 5800K + AMD R9 290 combo. If the performance hit are unbearable, You can off few of the shaders.

The pro using my preset:

Vibrant colour
Much darker (maybe need to adjust brightness a little bit)
Depth of Field
Ambient Occlusion (give shadow depth to environment)
Better fog

For screenshots and download you can go to this link http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/preset/5430/ and click the download preset. The link in the text file (sorry i need to record download hits).

Any suggestion and help are much very appreciated.

It still blows my mind on how good this game still looks. But this is one of the best looking versions I have ever seen.

At first glance all I can see is heavy blur on nearly everything and 2004-era bloom effects. This over-saturates the World, makes the beautiful texture art difficult to pick out and removes the shadows.

How do i get this to work with the widescreen patch and resolution fix? Adding one or the other renders the other useless

Sorry for really late reply (not very active here & after a very long month of dead pc just replace my broken motherboard). i recently manage to get it workout ( i don't know how but it work) with widescreen patch & fog fix. i will update later with tutorial as i cant open my pc because missing a monitor right now ( it is a miracle because i don't really know/forget how i manage to made it work).

also for the next update i will try to use/port to ReShade 3.0 with new features & settings.

For temporary solution just apply the Squ1zZy’s Silent Hill 2 resolution patcher without the widescreen patch because widescreen patch will replace ReShade d3d8.dll
