Silent hill downpour Symbolism of the monsters

Post by july on Wed Nov 09, 2016 6:17 am

I think monsters in downpour, like have this emotional wave or cloud or something like demons in religion. And every monster in downpour is basically is a large cloud of emotions, uncontrollable and very large. With scremamer it could be Ann or Carol, or any other human been in Downpour, how you think how irrational it is and emotional, big. Very symbolic, very irrational. From this point of view I think Downpour monsters are brilliant. Just think about it. Also did you notice, that Downpour reminds 12.Oz mouse or something, with characters and stuff ?

Something that Homecoming absolutely decimated Downpour on was the monster design and boss fights.

I still think Downpour had a better atmosphere more akin to Silent Hill, however.

According to Pat from Two Best Friends Play:

Screamer: fear of angry women
Prisoner: fear of prisons
Weeping Bat: fear of crying
Wall Corpse: fear of dismemberment
Cop Cars: fear of cops
Wheelchair Man: fear of confinement

Because if you're an enemy in Silent Hill, your symbolism is fear.

It's all being scared of something.

Alternatively, according to Pat from TBFP, every enemy represents sex.

It's either all about benign scared, or about f***g
There was a SIGNATURE here. It's gone now.
