so i was really wandering ...about that little kid weeping out and sometimes maybe screaming and crying...
but here is the video if you like to watch ...the scene is at 12:9

we can hear him saying "make it stop make it stop"!...he is crying out saying "mommy mommy i want my mommy tell her it hurts and i wanna go home i don't wanna stay here any more!" then he goes saying .."i don't wanna take any more medicine it makes my tummy hurt"
first i don't figure it out who's that little kid!?...second why and what pain he hurt from!? that wasn't his son right!? i mean charlie?! then who is he!? ..and what's the connection between murph and that kid!?..O_O
and we all knew that charlie died drowning from that lake ...he goes ..his dad calling out for his name ..and charlie cries from that flash back scene we saw!.... right!?..
any explanation about this would be more better !

the voice of the boy seems to belong to the boy referenced in the psychological reports and who wrote the letter to his parents asking them to bring him home. The same boy that died during the lobotomy operation. It seems to just be a random child. Tomm says it has no reference to any of the characters in the game.

I really don't see why they'd make a big deal about this "random kid" if he didn't have some significance. That's two memos and a sound byte: that's a lot for something apparently inconsequential.

The whole Monastery subplot told through the notes and voice hauntings is pretty cool because it shows the writers and devs really do care about storytelling. It has no bearing on the main events, is almost entirely irrelevant to Murphy, yet they spent the time and effort telling it. Sure, one can speculate that it's somehow related to a Downpour character, or that it is somehow connected to Homecoming; however, I don't believe it has any relation to anything. It's just the totally sad story of a kid whose life was ruined, and ultimately ended, by whatever f*cked up morally unethical practices happening in the real world version of St. Maria's Monastery.

It shows the people involved in this game were genuine storytellers, by including this irrelevent subplot that merely sheds light on past town events.

good explaining ...so its almost like Murphy he was hearing lots of sounds of kids ..by other meaning .."ghosts"which reminding him of his own little boy...and the way he loses him in his past .. oky now what about those 2 little kids in Monastery ...the boy and the girl ...they DID appear right away before his own eyes!.. so they are ghosts !?o.o..i can only understand one thing about the girl ...that she was anne Cunningham ..there is other thing that can proves it ...when Murphy falls down he can see 2 characters running in the other world ..the first one was that little girl then next after her is anne running ..

Considering that most of the sidequests were irrelevant subplots, I guess this could be considered another sidequest that you experience during the 'main quest'.

You know what would be pretty interesting? If they fleshed out some of the subplots from Downpour in future sidequests or main stories in subsequent Silent Hills (if Vatra has the helm again).
