Why is it being called SH8?

Well simply if you do the math you will realize it is the 8th game in the Series. lol

SH1 -1st game
SH2 -2nd game
SH3 -3rd game
SH4 -4th game
SH0 -5th game
SHH -6th game
SHM -7th game
SH8 -8th game

Yeah, considering the working title for Homecoming was Silent Hill V (SH5), they were clearly counting Origins as #0 before, but decided to now count IT as 5. It would make more sense to call this SH7 as the working title to keep in line with that the working title was for Homecoming.

But, really, does it matter? We ALL know what game we are talking about then we say SH8 and everyone will forget it was ever called SH8 as soon as it's real title is announced. You don't see people calling Homecoming "SH5" or calling Origins "Original Sin". Just go with it. It'll be over soon.

There was no guessing.

1) It is a working title, which means its just there as a placeholder until the actual name is unveiled to the public.

2) It is the EIGHTH Silent Hill game in the SH universe, thus Silent Hill 8 placeholder name. The numbering is purely sequential, not storyline driven so forget all the "Origins is technically Silent Hill 0" nonsense. Origins is technically Silent Hill 5, Homecoming is the 6th, and Shattered Memories is 7th. Thus, we now have SH8 in the pipe.
