I totally agree with you. Call me a misanthrope I want to play video games on my own. Especially when it's a game like Silent Hill.

EXACTLY! Team Silent were getting ready to make a Silent Hill 5 that was multiplayer JUST like this one, before Climax took over and scrapped it. They were the ones who started it ;)

Since we're on the subject....the more I think about it, the more some incarnation of "Silent Hill: It's Multiplayer, bitches" seems like it was an inevitability. Everyone has been so opinionated one way or the other, that someone just HAD to make it and get it out of the way.

It looks like things are getting too spicy for the pepper.

EsoArt said in his last post with that he wasn't continuing with the argument (and that we should rethink subjectivity ¬_¬).

May as well enjoy the randomness before/if the thread gets locked down. ;)

I share this sentiment.
Oh, you think darkness is your ally. You merely adopted the dark. I was born in it, molded by it--I didn't see the light until I was already a man. By then, it was nothing to me but blinding! The shadows betray you because they belong to me!

Someone posted wondering whether he was going to respond on the previous page. I suppose I should have quoted it, heh heh. ;)

I'd love to see someone try a sunny otherworld. It could be a really interesting change,I think.

I know about the sunny otherworld but multiplayer? I don't remember hearing about that... and if that's true, then I'm glad Climax replaced them. That would have been a total disaster for the series future.

This is why you need to learn to not judge a book by it's cover, remember how ridiculous and childish you sounded in the start of the thread?

And now it's one of your favs, haha

If there are going to be any more (NEW) Silent Hill games, then there needs to be more oppression in those games. SH2 was so heavy. I could relate what with having to deal with prison and the fear of arrest and cops. It's catharsis.

emma wrote: :(....its perfectly great for me~:) as its SCARY! yeah it does that's all i want to say ^^...

I honesty really liked Downpour ever since I heard about the game. Music, playing, visuals, it's really awesome. Now . . . The monsters . . . The monsters . . . The monsters needed work.
Not sure how we got from "Abstract Daddy" to prison slaves werewolf shirtless Ninjitsu monsters. "Barbie" is a great monster, but I still have no idea what it is supposed to represent for either Murphy or Anne or whoever. POSSIBLY, IN MY OPINION, the "Barbie Doll" / "Sex Doll" is suposed to represent repressed sexuality in prison. I'm sure that Murphy didn't get much action in jail. Also, this can go back to the female screamer monsters since they represent women and fear of them/ fear of a woman/ oppression against women. I just made all that stuff up in my mind, as opposed to my flesh, but that's what I think.

I think the screamer represents Carol (Murphy's waifu).
REVEAL SPOILER
SPOILERS AHEAD since charlie's death, Carol blamed Murphy for all that shit that happened. They must have been through some serious verbal fights togheter, stuff like that... the screamer may represent Carol screaming and scolding murphy.

But I may be getting a little far of, it seems that Tomm or Devin once confirmed that screamers where the spirits of silent hill's forest or something like that.

I agree with your idea on the screamers. I also agree with Tomm/Devin's statement about the sceramers being spirits of the forest/silent hill. It is totally possible for both ideas to be at work in Silent Hill. The different fears and emotions can mix together to create a spirit that gives life to the fears.

Since Book of Memories is canon, it's going to be a "chapter from the series" in some vein. It might not be on the same level as the more "character driven" Silent Hills, but it's going to be a part of the canon whether we agree with it or not. I was apprehensive, then optimistic, and now I'm indifferent. I'm waiting for an inevitable port or Vita price drop.

Agreed! I won't be buying BoM unless it's released on another platform (PS2 or PSP, more than likely). I won't be buying a Vita because not only do I already have the PSP, but I won't be buying something so expensive for only one game  I already have a PS2, PS3, AND an Xbox360 (though, the 360 is my father's), but that's enough for me!

Okay, you know what? Since most of Silent Hill is individual stories, there is absolutely no need to debate on what is or isn't canon. If you don't like it, then fucking ignore it.
