Silent Hill Homecoming & Steam....Crashes galore!

Post by Stefos on Mon Sep 01, 2014 9:54 pm

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted here in AGES but I need help:

I have SH Homecoming on Steam and it stutters and crashes as well.

I have the following specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4 GHZ
8MB of RAM
Nvidia 260 GTX card

I'm good therefore insofar as hardware is concerned.

How do I fix this problem? Is it a rendering issue or what?

Any insights would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Stefos

Wish I could help, but this is why I barely played it for years. Eventually I gave up and bought it for PS3. =\

Homecoming on PC is a really crappy port.
When I upgraded my specs, I found that it was less buggy, however.

Your specs are a bit outdated. The NVIDIA 200 series is outdated.

8MB of RAM too?! MB?!

Don't hate playa.....I meant to say 8 GB of RAM but I was tired.

Incidentally, which Nvidia card is Good?

I don't want to buy an already overclocked card.

Later,

I played it perfectly fine on GTX 260 (it came out around 2008 and that was when Homecoming was released too). It had software bug issues and bad controls, not hardware issues.

I still remember beating those Schisms at the prison with the pipe through the wall and then crawling through the room.
