SH3: Error occurred during system data (PC

When I load up the game, it gives me a black screen with "error occurred during system data saving data not saved" at the bottom. It them loads up as normal, the konami logos and whatnot. I then go to the main menu and my extra costumes are gone, my extra features, everything! it just gives me the option to load or start new game. I have no clue why it's not saving the data, I have looked high and low, I have searched google, yahoo answers, pretty much every silent hill forum I know of I have advanced google searched.

Can someone help me? I don't want to keep beating the last boss to get the stuff I unlocked.

I am not sure myself, but you could try finding the folder where all the saved info is (costumes, extras, etc) and copy that folder to another location, uninstall the game, reinstall, then paste your saved folder back and see if that works.

I fixed it, quite easily too I didn't need to uninstall. All I had to do is run it under compatibility for windows xp, service pack 3.

I don't know what the other service packs do, but oh well.

That's interesting to know. Are you running Windows 7? I figured even if the game is that old, it would still be patched to run for Windows 7.
