The Silent Hill experts on Facebook would probably go "Urgh! Another Pyramid Head clone! But this was made in Japan!" and then probably have a nervous breakdown trying to get the two concepts to coexist in their heads!

Seeing that picture, gave me another DEA for the series that will never happen. You play as the monster in the picture. You try to get back to your humanity by shedding your weapons and costume gradually.
How would that work?
I don't know. I'm not a designer! But it's that or another PH style enemy.
Thanks for sharing the picture, Otherworld!

No problem !

That picture reminds me more of the Boogeyman in Downpour. But the apron has a PH look to it....

I don't like it. It's not the art itself. That's fine. But it's too scifi to be Silent Hill to me.

Scifi ? What makes you think of scifi when looking at that picture?

We could see the work of Masahiro Ito again in Night Cry, you know, that boobs, I mean, blonde girl trying to survive in a haunted ship. She kinda trying to run in hight heels and tight dress... anyway, he did some monsters for this game:

Not an awesome game, but got it's charm. I think it was a kickstart project.

It looks a lot like his post apocalyptic artwork. Idk if you're familiar with it but to me it doesn't look like Silent Hill. Same with Downpour's otherworld level towards the end.

^Thin line, Silent Hill is kinda catastrophic. It's apocalyptic if you consider your actual world.

Ya'll are a tad bit off the mark, though. That pic above isn't what Ito posted regarding a cancelled Silent Hill.

This is the concept art he posted for that:

"The one of concept arts for new Silent Hill which I drew in 2013," reads Ito's caption for the image. "The beginning of its story."

The concept art, which you can see above, appears to share the same rusted, industrial style that made Konami's long-running survival horror series so distinct. Ito is known for his monster and background design work on the first Silent Hill, as well as his creature designs and art directing on Silent Hill 2 and 3. His most iconic creation is arguably the design of Pyramid Head.

According to Ito, he was "not involved with 'PT,'" the playable teaser for Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro's now-cancelled Silent Hills, although he did express interest in working with Kojima back in 2012.

That means we may be looking at art from an unannounced Silent Hill game predating Silent Hills. Ito is also remaining vague on Twitter when asked about the images, leaving the true origin and nature of the art in the realm of speculation.

The first image posted above was for a different game

Ito also shared art from another cancelled game he describes as a "Russian retro Sci-Fi horror title," which he worked on at Sony Computer Entertainment (now known as Sony Interactive Entertainment) between 2008 and 2010.
