The new FF looks to be utilising the Wiipad as a Camera Obscura, so the player can hold it up and pretend like they're in the game.

But at the end of the day, it's still just a gimmick meant to replicate the tablet computer experience, with almost none of the functionality of a tablet computer. I'm sure I'll get a kick out of it for awhile...but it's still just a FF game. I'm more interested in the lore/ghosts/story.

I'm far more invested in virtual reality experiences such as Oculus ir Morpheus. Those are less gimmicky and more progressive evolution.

It would be really great if he did, so the whole "tank vs modern" thing could die, at least for one game. I'm kind of tired of seeing people take what is, essentially, a personal preference about how controller inputs make da people on da screen go, and using it to stir argument about classic games vs. newer games, for sake of arguing.

In fact, I would love for a new "hybrid" control to enter the market, so that people can choose to play the game to their own preference, and we won't have people taking sides on an argument about which is the better way to make Leon walk down a hallway.

I like both styles. I don't have a problem with either because I've got bigger problems in my life to worry about than how a game controls.

Hybrid controls work very well. I have been playing the EA Sports NHL series for as long as I can remember. In the last few years they have switched up their control scheme but they offered a hybrid option that gives players a taste of new controls with an older feel. It's a great idea.

Yep, a non-exculsive Alan Wake sequel.

I'm kind of surprised it hasn't gotten one yet. It was a good game with interesting concepts. Loved the twilight zone spoof too.

What is everyone's thoughts on "The Evil Within"? I canceled my pre-order, but I'm kinda torn on it.

Ya so am I, I am unsure how the numbers were as far as sales are concerned.

I have it on preorder. I am waiting to read a review before I go pick it up though. Hopefully it is a decent game.

Is it coming out soon?
From what I recall, had Alessa successfully spread the crest throughout the town, the God would've been obliterated, or warded off. Instead Harry stepped in post-God-birth and murderized the shit out of the God. - NarooN

That is way sooner than I thought. How come there isn't more buzz surrounding this with its release so close?

I'm completely on board with The Evil Within, despite what looks like a bad aiming mechanic.

It actually feels like an evolution of Resident Evil. While the brand-name Resident Evil is busy ramming it's head up its bum, The Evil Within feels like the proper successor to RE4.

I bet Mikami feels the same way. He probably weeps at the train wreck of what Capcom is doing to his baby. I would much prefer Capcom to just let RE die. It's seen too much crap to fully recover.

I have been on board since the beginning. But the changes to the game to "make it more scary" has me a little worried. That game play video did not help things either. IMO this looks like a good mix of the Silent Hill and Resident Evil universes. I mean the game looks like RE except it is all happening inside the protags head .............

Keyword: RE4, not Resident Evil.
I'm still not sold on The Evil Within yet. It doesn't seem to be a "true return to survival horror" that they're making it out to be. I'll wait for the reviews before thinking of purchasing it.

The official state of Silent Hill ..... I really couldn't answer that question right now .... What I am scared of is a new thread that may read, " The OFFICIAL State of Silent Hill/ mobile "

This seems like where this franchise may be headed. Take whatever Konami has said about this franchise with a grain of salt ...

Survival horror ..... Indie games is where it's at right now ...

Yeah...."Until Dawn" seems like the only horror game of good quality that is coming down the pike...outside of that it was only "The Evil Within"...there is that other 1st person horror joint coming out by the folks that made Amnesia, and while it looks good, i'm just not into 1st person horror games or 1st person anything for that matter... :|
