What I think should happen with Silent Hill

Post by NarooN on Wed May 30, 2012 3:05 pm

That's basically what I said, his "true" opinion came out after work was done on the game. Either way, whatever he thinks is whatever he thinks and doesn't change what I said in that one post I made earlier.

It really doesn't even matter what his view of the game is at this point because the issue will always come back to whether or not people believe him about it.

I don't want to lock it, but don't none of y'all push me.

Chill and relax.
The above post is intended to be factual, unless it isn't.

*pushes what!!*...bwahah... ....seriously tho...the series should continue to do what it's been doing and that is giving us solid one shot entries with different storylines and characters. Downpour was great in that aspect in that it had an original storyline that stood on it's own and it didn't have to drag past games into it's universe to make itself relevant. It also needs to hold on to the atmosphere that was found in Downpour, because honestly, when the monsters wasn't around, there was a very un-settling mood throughout the game and it brought back that "fear of the unknown" or "unseen"...and that was something the series has been missing for a looong time.

Again i appreciate what the other games have brought to the table as well, because when i look at my collection of SH games, it's good to know that regardless of how i feel about a particular game, i know that i will get a different SH experience every time i fire one up and that's a good thing...it's kind of like having good episodes compared to having great episodes, but more than that, it's a series starring a host of different characters in a supernatural environment where nothing is absolute.

Whereas with RE...it stars the same tired characters with a weak plot that involves in one way or another a greedy corporation trying to create bio-weapons...don't get me wrong i still like RE, but over the years the characters have turned into straight up cheesy super-heroes abd they have become very shallow. Downpour is a refreshing start for the series direction that it needs to follow..
Knowledge, Wisdom and Understanding....these are the basic fundamentals of life....

If you can't amaze them with brilliance, baffle them with bulls**t...

What I think should happen with Silent Hill

People have been overlooking the fact that I'm the one that started this thread and said they need to stop appeasing the hardcore fanboys and make the games different than the original format.

Note: Saying "just because you said it was bad, doesn't make it bad" works the other way around. Just because you liked it doesn't mean it was good. Think about that a little. I use words like LOWER QUALITY instead of TERRIBLE or something, because that's more accurate.

Oh, and if anyone wants to talk about the MDT, it needs to be done somewhere else. It's stupid that people like Augo who can't win an argument with logic keep getting threads locked on various forums just because they feel the need to drown out discussion with repetitive, copy/pasted bull. If you want to call the devs liars, do it to their faces. They'll answer your messages on Facebook and Twitter and stuff. That's how I found out what Jeremy and Tomm think, and that's how people are getting in touch with Ito. All 3 will tell you what you want to know. But saying "so and so is a liar" when they have screen caps to prove otherwise is proof that someone is just trolling. Trolling, btw, is a bannable offense, especially when that someone is on an alt after being banned for goodness sakes.

I started a nice thread on Hell Descent about it. Let's be nice and NOT GET THIS ONE LOCKED BY BEING STUPID, ok?

Um, crowbar, you up and left the conversation about Jeremy's facebook posts with the user what when when there was a discussion about the Jeremy Blaustein screencaps you posted. I wouldn't be talking about others not being able to win an argument with logic when you throw in the towel upon being proven wrong.

viewtopic.php?f=25&t=433306&start=40

Notice how after it's pointed out that Jeremy's statements don't agree with yours like you try to pretend, you never post again in relation to that particular argument within the topic. And I've already told you I don't care about bans so I don't know why you're still going on about that. You simply make a new account and move on. Not difficult in the least and the fact that I don't bother starting an argument over why I should or should not be banned shows I'm a little above whining or caring about trivial crap like that.

In addition, you're missing the point of why people told you about the fact that you label Homecoming low quality. You go on to openly say that you agree with Waverer's posts that say game quality itself is subjective. But this is right after you keep labeling Homecoming as low quality as if it's irrefutable fact. The irony is there is easy to pick up on. That's why it stood out for some people.

Anyway, like it's already stated, it's a curse with the Western developers no matter what they try to do. They try to make Silent Hill in their own image, they get criticized to hell for venturing away from "what Silent Hill is supposed to be". They try to do so then they bashed for "catering to the fans too much". If anything is killing Silent Hill, it's the unpleaseable fanbase that doesn't know what it collectively wants in a Silent Hill game and is going to complain regardless of what ideas are utilized for the new installments. So at this point, I think the developers should just say to hell with the fans think. Sure, there are some people who legitimately appreciate some of the work of the Western titles. But we can't restrain the series to its knee jerk reactionary fans. So I wouldn't even worry about that or how "hipster" some fans may be.

More accurate? No it's not. It's still a condescending opinion. It's not a "fact" that the latter games are "lower quality". If someone thinks a game is a good game, then it's a good game. Maybe not to someone else, but to them, it's good, and that's all that matters. Do I givez a fawk if people though HC was garbage? Nope. I still played it a few times and enjoyed myself thoroughly.

Dude, it takes no effort or time whatsoever to make an account. Not sure why you care or even act as if it's a big deal. Anyway, to hell what with the fans think. If they can't figure out exactly what they want in a Silent Hill game and how it should be constructed, then I don't see the point in people worrying about what's going to happen with the series. Everybody wants and expects something different out of the series. As a result, you're doomed to criticism at every turn from the very beginning.

First, I'd like to apologize to Crowbar. No member here deserves to be constantly stalked and harrassed on this message board.

Second, I'm going to close this thread so he cannot post. If you want to open a new one Crowbar, be my guest. You're welcome to start a new discussion.

Third, it's clear Aug, is out of his goddamn mind. The behavior he is exhibiting is crazy and more than a little creepy. This is a forum, this is not high school. Most of us, I assume are adults. We should act as such. Yes, some won't like each other and there will be bouts we don't get along but this e-stalking business is not even remotely sane or mature. No one here deserves that.
