I liked the Tekken movie and the Tomb Raider movies did a pretty good job.

Me too. Until I see a good VG movie adaptation, I stick to this.
Also, we are so on-topic that it is scary.

When does Rose die?

I really didn't get the silent hill movie =_0 I was wondering though the whole movie, if she was dead or not. But now, I think she is in some kind of alternative silent hill, another dimention. Oh, and ghosts can't die again. . so it makes no sence XD

blarg, I have no idea what I just said! =_= All I mean is, she can't be dead. She as to be in a alternative silent hill.

It must have taken more than a day, I surely hope she is okay."

When does Rose die?

Post by Aerith on Sun Jul 04, 2010 11:54 pm

I've seen this question asked many times on Yahoo, other forums, and even by my friends. I believe that Sharon nor Rose are dead. I read on Yahoo once a girl's theory on the question that I believe with strongly. The theory is that at the end of the movie when Dark Alessa and Sharon lock eyes together in the church, Alessa's two halves have come together: The Dark (Dark Alessa), and The Good (Sharon). This is like Silent Hill 1 when Cheryl, the good part of Alessa's soul, rejoins with the other half of Alessa's soul. You can get a vibe from when 'Sharon' looks at Dahlia when they are leaving the church that it's not the same person. She seems...darker? She just doesn't seem as bright and cheerful. I think that Sharon is now fully Alessa and that she has trapped Rose with her in this alternate world that she has made, the fog world, so they can be happy together. No men, no other people. Men raped her, people burned her and mocked her. Rose is the only person she is able to trust, so what must she do? She must cut off everyone else so they can live happily ever after. The girl also stated that Silent Hill has three dimensions in the film: 'The Fog World' is like Purgatory, atleast in Alessa's eyes, where she is able to be safe from the world and the cultists, 'The Otherworld' of Silent Hill represents a Hell-like place where there are the monsters and serve as a punishment for the cultists, and then there's 'The Real World' with Chris and Officer Gucci.

Crappy ending anyway if you ask me.

I don't really know if they were dead or not myself, the movie confused me more than my first orgasm. But, I do agree with the second part, Crap Ending.
No more questions! We have Rosemary!

Well, I don't imagine she's dead seeing on how she's in the next movie, unless of course she is a wandering ghost in the Otherworld. In any case, and I agree with the norm, the ending was confusing and I wish we had more closure on the subject. My initial thoughts were, and still are, that Rose & Sharon are still stuck in the realm of Silent Hill.

When does Rose die?

Rose is almost certainly dead in Revelation, though that does not mean she died in the first film. The plot synopsis says Heather is on the run with her father, so obviously her mother is nowhere to be found. It would make no sense whatsoever for Alessa's reincarnation to put Rose through hell so that she can prove herself a fit mother for Alessa's new body, and then to just abandon her for no reason. According to Bassett, Rose is only in a few scenes, which suggests she really doesn't have much of a role beyond flashbacks. The most likely explanation is that Rose died between the events of the two movies, which emotionally scarred Sharon/Alessa so much that she fled her own world and repressed the memories of her life as Alessa.

As for the first movie, no one in Alessa's world is dead, so there's no reason to believe Rose is the one exception to the rule. She certainly did not die in the car crash, and it's very unlikely that she was affected at all by Christabella's dagger, seeing as she was carrying the supernatural manifestation of Alessa's dark side within her. Her being trapped in the alternate reality at the end of the film does not mean she's dead. Rather, the complete rebirth of Alessa has chosen Rose to be her new mother, and so has trapped her in her own world, where they can be together without interruption.

When does Rose die?

Well, in the movie, didnt that woman say that only the devil or whatever can unlock the doors in and out of silent hill? Also, the last part where Sharon looks at alessa and then passes out, then they get to leave Silent Hill shows that Sharon is now PART of Silent Hill, she is the devil, or alessa, and therefore, she can't leave silent hill. If anyone has to die, I would think that they died right then, when Sharon passed out.

If that makes any sense, lol.

There is no devil in the movie. The evil little girl is the manifestation of the dark side of Alessa's soul, just like Sharon is the manifestation of Alessa's good side. Dahlia says: "Only the dark one opens and closes the door to Silent Hill". In other words, only Alessa can open the passageway, which is supported by Alessa's dark side being shown leaving her world twice (once to deliver Sharon to the orphanage, and again when she appears in front of Rose's car). The scene of Sharon and Dark Alessa locking eyes was Alessa's soul reuniting into one body, creating a "rebirth" containing both the good and bad sides of the soul. Since Alessa can leave her world anytime she wants, that means the only reason she's not leaving is because she doesn't want to. And because Rose proved she loves her child more than anything, Alessa doesn't want her to leave either.
