i know this may be old but here's Pyramid Head's role in homecoming explained (somewhat). and some opinions about the silent hill franchise by Jason Allen ( Lead designer in homecoming ) and a little chat with Akira regarding the game's OST and his work in the franchise.

Maybe it was the... Nah, lol, it didn't feel "American" to me necessarily. Has anyone played Dynasty Warriors or Devil May Cry? Sometimes the whole "muricans only like bombz n action yoh" thing is ridiculous. Japanese (and others) have made shitloads of action games with combat much more extreme than HC.

When you go into a small country somewhere outside of North America with your flashy military and expect a quick and bloodless victory and then, after ten years, you're wondering when it's ever going to end.

Oh, you mean in video games? I don't know. That just doesn't make a lick of sense.
