Check this shit out: http://www.unseen64.net/2009/02/27/sile ... prototype/

I came across that a few years ago but never really forgot about it. It's nothing special; the story goes that Climax USA (the ones originally working on Origins on PSP) was to also work on a PS3 game. However, Konami decided to shift development of Origins over to Climax UK, so I guess this project also went with it and got moved over to Double Helix.

Yes, that is Travis' model but I really doubt he would've actually been in the final game, at least not as the main character. It's just a tech demo made to show concepts and whatnot. Still, it looks cool I guess. Screens and a video located in the link.

It could have been interesting, but after seeing this guy:

I'm glad that Climax US was not developing any Silent Hill titles. Though, it does look like they had a better grasp than Double Helix did on what they were doing, as far as the technical aspects go.

Agreed. When I see that guy I immediately think RE .-. He just doesn't seem like he fits at all even if they slapped him with good symbolism. I'm pleased with what UK did with the finished product.

I always like to see this old beta/pre release stuff for whatever reason, and I'd never seen most of the screenshots in that link before. I'll admit it doesn't look too interesting from the screenshots and footage available but it was just a demo, we'll never know how the full game would have turned out. One thing that's interesting is that it was being developed using Unreal 3 and has a similar camera to the recent RE games, both of which were later used in Downpour.

Yeah that's why I was kinda intrigued by these stills and such since I'd first seen them around the time HC was either out or about to come out.

I found this, so Ill be making a video on it very shortly :) It was a Silent Hill pitch, plus they reused it for a pitch without the SH license.

I've been around, just working on gathering things :) I like reading up all the Silent Hill stuff, since I never really felt like I knew what was going on when I played them.

Very nice video, thanks!

How in the world did you get that?! I've been deep into the fandom since like 2010 and I've never seen that or heard all this info before. Just a very short clip that was like 10% of that.

It actually really was interesting. I enjoyed the video a lot.

Seemed like the ideas were really 50/50 in quality. I'm pretty glad they didn't actually come out with that. I liked the rising church though, that could have been pretty awesome.

The thing to remember is that as a pitch, its not fleshed out. I would almost guarantee that the other Silent Hill pitches werent much better, even from Team Silent hah.
