Man i envy you!, don't know why but im super excited to play Origins, maybe it's because it has my favorite soundtrack and im excited to see how it's placed in the game!

Sorry, don't fully get what you meant. Are you saying that you've never played Origins and you do not own a PS2? :)

I've only played Origins on PS2. It's a great game, but Travis and Lisa's models aren't as good as PSP imo and it's littered with bugs and glitches. Here's some I remember off the top of my head:
- Audio likes to cut off/refuse to loop. In the room where you fight the first Ariel, the ambiance track likes to play once and then stop. This occurs other places as well. Travis' footsteps tend to break too, so you end up hearing him walk with one less foot.
- The weapons menu likes to switch thumbnails around (i.e. picture of the shotgun for the pistol), but it doesn't affect the game.
- The codebreaker costume has a habit of not loading the texture of the glasses properly, so it loads a black bar over his eyes instead.
- The fixed cameras will stick sometimes. Sometimes you can fix this by running to an area where another fixed camera rests, but usually tapping the look button solves it.

I remember there being much more, but for the most part, they're all very minor and cosmetic. I've only found one game-breaking glitch so far and that's where the FMV near the end at Alchemilla likes to freeze. This is fixed just by saving before then and reloading, but if you're going after the daredevil costume, then it's a pain in the ass.

EDIT: Some older members and I compiled this list a couple years ago. It should have all of them: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=281700

I could have sworn that I posted in this thread before! Anyways, what I thought I said (maybe I replied to this in a dream?) is that I've only played this on the PS2 so I can't accurately compare it to the PSP, but I will say that I still loved playing the game. I thought it was really good and I didn't notice any real problems with it. The only problem was some serious lag when trying to save or load, but that's about it. :)

Ok, so I've started playing it and so far so good, just as great as I remember it being. Even though it was devised for the small screen of the PSP, I think it's made the transition to a big tv just fine. My PS2 is hooked up via component cables to my Panasonic 42" plasma tv and it looks great. I'm only in the early stages of the game, finished Alchemilla hospital and have arrived at the butcher's shop and saved there. Haven't noticed any game breaking glitches yet, just an odd bit where some music suddenly stopped playing in the hospital Otherworld :)

^That could use some PS2 or PSP labels for the screenshots.

I never realized the lack of track looping was a glitch. I had figured it did that on purpose.

@MIKE;
The top shots are PSP and the bottom are PS2.

I never realized how vibrant the colors were in the PSP version. O.o

I've never played the psp version, but the ps2 version has serious framerate issues. given how psp to ps2 ports usually go, the psp version would probably be better.
Huh? Radio? What's going on with that radio?

Yep, too dark.
I have both versions and thought to myself, "I've never actually beaten the ps2 version, I should get on that."
I ended up using the map to locate every door. No matter what I did I couldn't see a damn thing, so I'd whip out the map every couple of steps as if I were feeling along the walls for a door IRL.

I really don't have any trouble with the darkness in the Ps2 version.
Besides I hate the fact that we can't even control the camera with a right analog in the PSP version.

I've never experienced framerate issues with the PS2 port.

Me neither. I haven't had any problems with my PS2 version, and I've played it through several different times. *shrugs*

For one, darkness usually depends on the tv you're using, not the game. Considering most people don't have any issues with the lighting of the game. It's not dark for me at all.

My with old tv, SH3 was about as dark as it got. I couldn't see a thing when in the Otherworld, but it wasn't the game. When I bought a newer tv and played SH3 on it, it was much much lighter, and I could see everything just fine. It all depends on your tv with every game. ;) Same way with Origins. It was so dark on there I couldn't see a thing. But on my current tv, everything is fine.

I had more problems with the port of Origins than any other SH game. I never played the HDC.

I'd like to add that there's a huge difference in terms of brightness between having the game's noise filter on or off. For me it's perfectly possible to navigate the game without the flashlight if the noise filter is on. When it's off you can't see a thing - everything is pitch black. Talking about the PS2 version here.
