So if she didn't lose power. Do you think she gained more power after reuniting as the passage that SD quoted suggest?

One of the problems with that guide, is that the way the answers are formed,

Could it be that having the malevolent deity dwelling within her body and uniting with Cheryl were what led Alessa to acquire supernatural powers?

It's as if they're giving us just one of the possible answers, but it's ironic, because we know Alessa had supernatural powers even before the ritual was done on her.

True. Hence she was chosen to birth god. Another thing that is wrong in the guide is that it says the burning ritual was performed in the basement, we know from Origins, it wasn't.

Well, I'm starting to think that Dahlia was able to convince the public that the fire did in fact start in the basement, and for all we know it did. I mean, it's kind of odd that Travis finds Alessa in the middle of a HotS, surrounded by candles, but that immediate area isn't burning.

ah... so confusing... :O

What if she actually did want to burn. But then after Travis picked her up and started helping her she started to think "ah whatever hes already saving me, might as well help"

Even if that sounds stupid. I guess its a possibility. Theres no factors here so ill pass anyway :roll:

Perhaps Alessa didn't want Travis to be harmed? Even though she wanted death, Alessa may not have wanted someone who is trying to help her die. Just a guess! :sweatdrop:

Yeah thats kinda what I just said.. sorta.

She just wants to help Travis because Travis is helping her even though she wants to burn she knows its thoughtful of him.

How are we sure that it is Alessa removing the fire with her power? How do we know it isn't a higher power/other source?

I think she only wanted herself to be hurt, rather than putting Travis at risk of getting burnt.

And there is definitely the possibility that she wasn't the one making a path for Travis. o 3o;

So you really believe the God is going to make a path for Travis so he can carry her out?

Oh, yeah, that makes so much sense.

I'm not putting much thought into it, and I'm not saying that it was the God. But maybe. o 3o;

It would be nice if you did put some actual thought into it.

Vith, your being awfully grumpy towards someone who is just stating their opinion. People have different ideas and that's okay, but please don't be mean just because you don't agree.

It's not the opinion I'm being grumpy about. It's the fact that they admitted that hardly any thought what so ever went into their opinion.

I'm not putting much thought into it, and I'm not saying that it was the God. But maybe. o 3o;

Sorry if I like my discussions to have some thought, and not just, "LOL god did it, but i dunno cuz I didn't actually think."

Fungo wrote:Although Alessa says "Let me burn..." in the opening, making an obvious impression that she does not want to be saved by Travis, she still uses her powers to remove the walls of fire.

Why would she do this, if she didn't want to be saved?

I think Alessa was very aware of the suffering she would endure for the ritual to be complete. She would much rather die then and there. I believe this is confirmed in SH3.

Sorry, I did not notice that this thread was locked ..... my bad
