The Mysteries of Silent Hill 3

Post by MunirBinJulaihi on Tue Mar 10, 2009 7:03 pm

We all already know the mysteries of Silent Hill 3. The Mansion, the mannequin, the wheelchair, the "black-cat" and the Fukuro lady, but there's still missing, even though we play it a hundred times. Until now, the mystery is STILL unsolved. You know what's missing? Here's what:-

1.) Is Valtiel a Pyramid Head? Or is Pyramid Head is a Valtiel? I know James is a Pyramid Head, but what is he doing back there? Is he going to watch over us? Even in the kitchen? Even in the room? Or even we take a shower? We never know till we figure that out.

2.) The first and unexpected guest, Robbie the Rabbit. I thought there's someone inside that costume, but when Heather said there's noone inside, then who is it? If it's robot, it won't be function properly. And also what's his purpose in a place like this? Is he lost? If he lost, he should diggin' up some holes already so that he can go back to his home.
Till now, Robbie still around and we're not so sure if he's a human inside the costume... Or maybe it's a "supernatural"..... :scared: Urgh, I feel a little bit scared....

And last but not least, 3.) 50-something-year old detective name Douglas Cartland. He's been hired to find the girl name Heather. He successfully met Heather at the Mall, but when he's arrived at the Amusement Park to met with the witch, Claudia, he didn't brought with her, but we already know that he's gettin' along with Heather.
The thing is, Douglas knows something. Something's that we didn't even know yet. What did he mean by, "I'm done it before"? Is he already killed one of The Order's member? If so, then what about his "son"? Is that just a trick? If that's one of his trick, then, who's this guy? Is this guy is....Harry? But Harry's dead. We already saw his face, but we don't know if that's his REAL face.

The mystery is still unsolved...

You're not making any sense. How can a man be a dishwasher?

1) As far as I know, Pyramid Head is not Valtiel or the other way around. Valtiel escorts the cult's God into existence, Pyramid Head deals with James's guilt......and something to do with Alex.

2) Robbie the Rabbit is simply the mascot of the amusement park. There was someone in the costume, going around the park amusing people, now the person inside is dead. Or it's just an empty costume. He is in the park because he is part of the park.

3) I'm not so sure about Douglas. I think he's just a detective who got a job from someone, and thus went to do it. Maybe he has a cult history, maybe he doesn't.

The costumes are presumably empty. After you talk to Douglas in the tea cup area there is a popcorn stand with a robbie costume under it, it's empty.

Some say the Robbie is a pun to Sandalphon.
WHY NOT ZOIDBERG? (V)(;,,,;)(V)

1. The way I see it : differents sects aside, in general Valtiel is seen as he who is closest to [the] God, as his name implies, and my guess is that job-description includes anything from being his baby-sitter, bodyguard, hammer of justice and reaper of souls - he is reponsible for securing the God's life, well-being, even birth etc but also acts as a judge, jury & executioner to those who have sinned [in James's case for instance]. Because James went to the town for punishment, his mind overlapped the image of the old executioners [that he had probably already seen at the Historical Society on his trip w/ Mary] with Valtiel, making him a cross between the two [the whole look/color/texture of Pyramid Head's flesh for instance is the same as Valtiel's, same for the hands]. It's sort of that monumental stone in the beginning of the game that sets it off - you basically see the stone, find the key and go to the apts, where you first see him, in 1 straight line.

So in conclusion...James is not Pyramid Head. Pyramid Head probably *isn't* physically Valtiel either, but James's mind made it so that Valtiel's entity at least appears as Pyramid Head to him, even though it might not physically be *the* Valtiel that he encounters, seeing as how there's two and all for instance. In truth, basically Valtiel was cooked up out of the ceremonial robes in SH1 and Pyramid Head in SH2, to create a character that links all the games together, but this wasn't until the 3rd game was developed. He is represented through Walter in SH4 and through The Butcher in 0rigins as well...

2. Doesn't Heather address this herself? Something about the bodies in the cage-like structures throughout the amusement park, and not wanting to know, in the dream sequence probably...? As for what he's doing there, yeah he's a mascot, however there is probably some relevance to Robbie though seeing as how there are more, there's this area with a stage and benches, there are posters on the walls there. It's just like Silent Hill's Mickey Mouse, but the idea that he is a sort of god is intrigueing, will have to look into this Sandalphon...but then again, most likely it's just a sort of joke, a *cute* mascot for Silent Hill.

3. I...am...not sure what you're trying to say but maybe you haven't played Silent Hill 1? The Harry that died is the real Harry, it's obvious from the scenes in SH3, no way around that. What Douglas meant with "I've done it before" had nothing to do with his son, he just meant he's killed *people* before, he doesn't seem to know anything about the cults, even in the beginning of the game, so I don't think that's anything to break your head over. He just feels guilty about the fact that he's partly responsible for getting Harry killed and ties that to the guilt of his son getting himself killed, so he can relate to her loss and has some fatherly feelings towards her, after the apartment he just decides that he doesn't really care for his own life if he can help Heather out and try and make up for what he did to her that way. He doesn't have anything to lose anyway, he kinda comes across a bit as an depressed and alcoholic etc to begin with...

@Devoured:-

I guess you were right about that (on #2 and #3).

@Floodclaw:-

I think that makes sense (on #1).
