I didn't see a post on them, so I'm making one. I used the SH Resource editor thingy to hack into the text, which allows you to see the whole thing. The entirety of the text is there in the game (not unlockable), but it is crossed out so it doesn't appear in-game. I un-crossed it out and then played through to get the screenshots.

There appears to be different text on the monument in the pic than the purple text lettering that appears. Have you ever been able to figure it out? I've only made out a few words..

Does anybody have any possible suggestions as to why they cut out certain words?
Avoiding 'offending' Christians seems a little timid and unsatisfactory, plus it only explains one of omissions.
The newspaper clipping about Angela's Father doesn't really omit anything of importance.
I can sort of understand why they skipped much of the more explicit detail from the 'Blood Swamp' note (considering how early in the game it can be found - maybe they could have put it somewhere that could not have been found until later in the game.
I take it that the rumour that the full text will be displayed after a number of playthroughs (like what actually happens with the billboards) is just apocryphal?

Excellent work by the way nur_ein_tier!

Seems like I read in a FAQ on GameFAQs that the messages were supposed to clear up after successfully completing the game. I.E., on a replay. I think the FAQ mentioned that due to a bug in the PS2 version of the game, the messages never clear up, but they do in the XBOX version. I don't know about the PC or PS2 GH versions though.

This is not true. Its falsified information Konami gave Dan Birlew who gave it out in good faith.

Kind of makes you wonder why the missing text is actually stored within the game data when they knew it would never be seen. I doubt they actually draw the missing text on the screen then render a rectangle over top of it. ("Falsified information given out by Konami"... sounds fishy to me)

Doubt it, the HD Collections won't have any new content or anything (not counting any visual upgrades).

Actually Fungo got part of them wrong, if I recall, in TRSHE, but it was a minor error in the newspaper one and hardly worth mentioning.

That's the only one I can offer a possible explanation to; With the letters omitted, assuming there's no suggestion towards how many are missing, and considering the fact that Silent Hill is Salem Village, Massachusetts, "The Puritans" would fit.

They weren't 'regular' Puritans though, they were Separatist-Puritans considerably influenced by Calvinistic theology. And seeing as Calvinism also has several subgroups, it's easier to just go with the categorical term "The Christians" and cover all bases.
