Wait lol now I know what she meant haha.

TBH I never paid too much attention towards the end, I think mostly because the church and nowhere sections basically provide us with most of the juicy information, for most 'SH1-experienced players' at least, I imagine. To me the game is over in a way before the final boss fight and events directly leading to it (...there's a fetus in SH3?), but now that I think about it, that's actually true for most of if not all of them [to me, that is].

Er... you completely miss the climax of the game if you do that.

I guess that means they're not very climactic to me...

What kind of games are you used to playing? Silent Hill games are much more subdued overall than say, games like Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, or Final Fantasy.

I'm not talking about the Silent Hill games in general or their stories and pacing, just the end fights. As for 3, I was just never really interested in Claudia's and Heather/Alessa's whole relationship and the cult stuff [yeah that's most of 3, I know]. The same happens with 0rigins, when Travis' story is over the game is sort of over for me. With the others it's just the boss fights although. I guess 4 would be my favorite if I had to pick one. To me they're usually annoying and repetitive if not plain hard and although that applies to 4 as well, there's something about it that makes it a bit more fun.

While Lisa was certainly a more likeable and memorable character, Doctor Kaufmann was equally or almost equally important. In most games where Lisa has a significant role, Kaufmann does too. So I am not so sure it has to do with Lisa being an important character..

But I agree about the cleavage point. Frankly, after 2, I got tired of the nurses. Sure they're creepy and weirdly sexy, but like Pyramid Head, I feel they've lost their significance over the years. Its a shame the Doctors were dropped. As has been said multiple times in this thread, they added variety.

Then again, Valtiel seems like sort of a babysitter/obstetrician.
If you stretch your imagination, the Butcher is a surgeon/pathologist.
Possibly another reason for the lack of monsters dedicated to being all doctorey is the idea that a doctor is the one who is trusted especially to know what he's doing. Nurses seem more like assistants (even though that's vastly inaccurate) so it's sort of like when you're at a hospital and you have something serious going on and you're waiting to see the actual doctor who will tell you what the hell is going on with your body (or with your mind, as the case may be) but all you get are these nurses apparently just killing time to apparently keep you from seeing the actual doctor.
I guess what I'm saying is it makes me think of the suspense in a hospital while waiting to see the doctor. Nurses are just sort of keeping you busy while he's off doing whatever.
