The school name in the movie is "Astoria," I think. Gyromancy on HD also made screencaps, so see here also. I didn't get around to making a good screen of the front of the school from the game or a closeup of it in the movie yet. The poster above the dog poster in the last SH1 image is in the movie, too, but I didn't get a good screencap of it. Some of the classroom drawings resemble the stuff in the game, also, but nothing else really blatant like the posters.

Contempo Casuals, aka Contempo was originally launched in the 1960s by the, believe or not Neiman Marcus Group, then later sold off to Wet Seal, a clothing store formed in Newport Beach California. Wet Seal was a young women's clothing retailer headquartered in Foothill Ranch, California which also added the clothing store Arden B. to their list. While Wet Seal mostly maintains clothing for teenage girls, Arden B. targets the urban girl or career styles. Contempo carried moderately priced brand name and company-designed apparel along with accessories that created and induced many of the trendy fashions we now love so much on the vintage sites. Mainly from the 70s through the early 90s. They hit their triumph of fashion in the 1980s . They exposed and created the path for the avant guarde designer. They sold to their funky, chic, sexy, whistle wearers. The girls who dared to be different could find clothes at reasonable prices that would challenge mainstream dullness.
THIE TEXTURE BELOW WAS EXTRACTED FROM THE CD AND WAS NOT USED IN THE FINAL GAME, THE FINAL TEXTURE IS CONTRASTS CASUALS STORE.
I've been playing through SH1 again for the 1st time in a long while, it's such a delight to tour the exterior street areas of the town now with all the reference knowledge I've accumulated since. Suffice it to say, knowing what we know now about it Midwich Elementary School.............will never be the same.
Playing close attention this time around, I've actually discovered a reference myself that I don't believe has yet been uncovered yet. But, I'm saving it for my comprehensively epic and ultimate BLOG on all of those SH1 references I'll be writing up at some point in the very near future.

There is a store in the game called THINGS AND STUFF located in (ALTERNATE RESORT AREA), this store exists in real life and is located at Garden City NY the exact addres is: 186 7th Street, Garden City, NY (you can look at google maps)
The reason that I'm finding all these references so fast is because I am making a compilation of every SH Stores for my site (http://sites.google.com/site/shresort), so, when i look in google images the name of each store, i found a reference, then i investigate a little bit more about each store, that´s all.
Here are another 4 references that just i found a minutes ago:

IT´LL DO CLUB DANCING This sign is located in ALTERNATE RESORT AREA on SANDFORD St. next to the THINGS AND STUFF store.
( 4322 Elm Street Dallas, TX 75226 ) It´ll do Club Dancing Was quite a place in the 50's and 60's. Located near Tennyson Park in east Dallas. Dancing and mingling in the evenings. There is a interesting story that during the day it was a hang out for "pressure cooker" wives. They shopped, drank and socialized most of the day- then ran home and threw dinner in the pressure cooker so they would have it on the table for hubby when he got home.

Reading through this was great! I think my favorite easter egg from SH1 is the Portishead posters because I love Portishead! I have to say, all of these real life places that match places in Silent Hill is so awesome to see. I personally want to look more into the magic symbolism of things, for example the names on the doors towards the end of the game and the items you collect for the door.
