How did you come across the title, what made you play it?

For me I saw a screenshot in a magazine that piqued my interest. After the game's release I saw my older brother play for a bit and was eager to see how the plot unfolded...but one day I came home to find he was bored of the game sold it back! I ended up getting my own copy plowed through the game and you know what I think my mom was my audience lol

Since then I've pretty much played through each installment on my own. I've been sort of jealous of other fans who can "pass off the controller" to their friends and sit back an watch!

I posted it already but I'll reiterate with a little less detail.

I had to have only been nine or ten years old and I watched my brother and his friends play it, I gave it a whirl myself and got to the part where I found the "to school" memo (yes, I know, I got terribly far, didn't I?), and I just knew there wouldn't be anything friendly in there so I stopped playing.

Sadly, my copy was destroyed in a flood about a year later.

I did get around to playing it again, much much later. I wish I had more time with it...!

And yeah, the games're always much more fun with a friend; I remember playing through "The Room" for the first time with a friend and we were at Forest World II. I headed through the large double doors that led out of the cemetery right after you get there, and the camera was placed right above Henry's head so we didn't see Eileen. I ran forward a little bit and then we heard the door open behind us, and then my friend says, "Eileen can't open doors...", so I turned around to investigate and Walter shot me in the face. :(

But the wound is healing spectacularly and I a lot had fun. I'd do it again.

I have said how I got into the game in my intro, but I'll say it again. I was 10 or 11 and one of my relatives gave me and my bros a copy of the first game. He was into gaming and he gave us one or two games he had completed and this was one of them. I couldn't really play it further than the point before the school or the key at the doghouse. I wasn't even saving! I just had a run to that point and then turned off the PS! My bro who is a bit calmer/better at some games didn't play it too, although I had got him to play one of the Resident Evil games while I was watching , 'cause I couldn't stand playing further than the first floor of the mansion. Those dogs that jump through the windows still quite scare me. I got back to the games when I was 15 something and finally made some progress. And some time later I got into the soundtrack thing too. That's about tit. I mean it.

I wasn't interested by Silent Hill at all at first. Then my younger brother bought the game and told me to play it as soon as possible. I didn't do it immediately since I had other game to play first. Then one day I dunno which game I could play so I remembered that Silent Hill was hidden in my brother's room. So I just went in, picked the game and started to play. I was immediately hoocked! What I remembered first was that feeling in that street alley while running after Cheryl : the camera movement, the music, how the place slowly turned from foggy to full darkness and after that meeting with Cybil. I enjoyed how Konami built the script. The main character was not a police guy, a soldier or some special force dude but a common guy like you and me. So considering that fact you feel really close to that guy who tries really to survive while searching for his lost daughter. It was fully immersive and the alternate world was a masterpiece of horror and angst. And to add more to that game, there was true emotion, some scene (especially that scene with Lisa) where really moving.

And since that day, I was a fan of Silent Hill.

Well I didn't start with Silent Hill 1... but back in 2001 or 2002 my friend brought over SH2 and showed it to me, because I was just getting into survival horror games (Started with RE, so he thought I'd like it)

I definatley fell in love with it that night, and thought it was intriguing.... though at the time, it was way too scary for me, and I was just getting in to horror. But that didn't stop me from buying it a few months later

Hey a roached killed me too I was low on health I turned to say something to my mom or sister and next thing I knew James was dead...from a roach. I was sure I was the only loser it happened to
