Well, ok, since the moderators allowed me to do that, I will then.
But, of course, who doesn't want to post there, doesn't have to, it's optional.

But we *like* the wrong impressions around here....

Also, even though this isn't what Leonard Wolf was saying, I made a new profile field (on your user control panel>profile)

It's probably what the TP crowd thinks the rest of the fanbase is like.

Note: there will be a system upgrade to php 5.4 happening next week. There shouldn't be any site issues, but I am mentioning it in case there are.

So what about a new look to the site? I mean, it is very Downpour oriented right now, but this isn't a forum dedicated only to Downpour, but to the entire SH series. It should have a more general SH feel to it IMO.

Did you know that there is an alternative forum style, which is more general?

You can find it in the User Control Panel, under Board Preferences.

Yes, but I need to log in to do that. The Downpour one is still the default version, and that doesn't make sense to me.

The Downpour one is probably still the default one because it was introduced around the time Downpour was getting ready to come out. Even so, it's not that big of a deal, and what's wrong with logging in? Even if you're just lurking, logging in is just an instantaneous process if you set the site to log you in upon visiting a page here.

I instantly settled for the rusty-red/brown alternative theme when joining as I felt it better matched the series as a whole.

It would be cool to a have a theme centered around all of the games(or the first four), maybe in a tile-type design or something. You could also have a theme for each section of the site depending on the context of the page; SH3 section with a huge snap of Heather and so on. But it's by no means much of a biggie as far as I'm concerned.

Subjectively speaking, the Downpour theme is, by far, the most aesthetically attractive of the three options we have.

I've always used the Downpour theme. I've got nothing against the tile theme, but I'm just so used to this one. Plus, the blues make it relaxing too.

MuFFiN mAn wrote:Relaxing? This Is Silent Hill -- it's not supposed to be relaxing. I demand the rusty redness of the tile theme to be the only option available to members, preferably with the harrowing screams of the sirens as a "welcoming" audio effect every time we sign in, with the rusty background peeling/disintegrating and dripping blood to boot.

Agreed.

As for the 'Pro silver'(I think that's what it's called) theme, I had a gander at it yesterday and it was beyond horrible(not in the good way). I'm guessing that was the only available theme earlier on in the site's life?

Pro Silver is a generic default theme provided by the phpBB (the guys who created the domain/site/server architecture, so to speak). I've seen it for ages on the internet, especially on those forums created by people with lackluster ambition which end up dying out weeks after they publish it, lol.

No, I'm pretty sure that, when the site began, Ratio had made a Brookhaven-related theme as the default. Prosilver is a generic phpBB theme that some people wanted me to make available due to loadtimes/file sizes/mobile browsing.

I for one would love a SM theme, i love ice and anything having to do with frozen thingies (yeah... i had an eyegasm at that ice castle in Frozen).

There was a SHSM theme up when that game came out, but it was replaced with the SHD one when SHD came out. Ratio added mods and the non-modded themes are not up anymore because they don't have the same functionality.
