This is just me dreaming here. But if everyone who posts here could realize that an argument is stating your viewpoint and backing it with facts, it would be spectacular. Some people seem to think that an argument is to hurl cloaked insults, and site sources outside the game as facts. I saw one that got so ridiculous that it got locked. So since the partners can't do it for us, we have to. I tend to be a smart-ass from time to time, but I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings. This is a community after all. We are supposed to commune, not squabble like kids.

Was this recently? We do not tolerate bashing of any kind on this community. I wasn't aware of any topics being locked..though I've been a bit busy the last week or so :(

Sorry, I couldn't find this thread again for like a week now. i almost thought someone took it down. I can't really remember now what it was about, but it was all you're a noob no you're a noob. My best freind Akira said you're not allowed to play Silent Hill anymore and all that kinda sillyness. I think one of them was a moderator even, not the one mudslinging, the jerk-ass doing all the insulting said the other one was a moderator. Anyway, it just bothered me, It wasn't like a reason to leave the community or anything. I just thought that I would leave that suggestion for people, which I guess if someone is a level 12 douche lord, they prolly wouldn't read it anyway. No cause for alarm, I was just a little perturbed and I got a big mouth. :D

?? Either that thread was really, really old and I never seen it/forgot about it or you were temporarily stuck in the twilight zone when that happened. I can check the logs to see if any threads were deleted recently but yeah, I never heard of that thread before.

Update: Nope, no threads recently deleted/closed... very weird.

Well i gotta apologize then, cause I swore there was some uproar about the moderator deleting the parts that they didn't agree with and blah blah blah. maybe I was in the twighlight zone, or possibly overreacting. but I remember seeing that it was locked. I don't know if it was deleted, but truthfully, if I am making drama out of nothing, I give you my sincerest apologies because the reason I was upset was the drama. I guess I will curtail my drinking and we can assume I was mistaken.[edit]Yet another case of retconning, and, this game is non-canonical, under origins. At second glance, they were still pretty childish, but I guess I shouldn't let them bother me so. I was just making a suggestion in the first place. maybe I am too sensitive when it comes to people arguing ridiculously and ignoring each other's opinions. I grew up with that and I try to avoid it whenever possible, To be sure you understand what I mean, I apologize.

I know we have to wait for one that's compatible with the server/format/whatever, but I think this site could benefit from a shout/chatbox like HellDescent has.
Of course, there's always the potential for spammers to make accounts just to post links to porn and merchandise. So maybe that's a bad idea.....

I think a chatbox/shoutbox would work well actually. I especially like the one over at the Silent Hill Fever forum. Something like that would be kind of neat here. As for the porn/spam thing, that's a mod's job to take care of, and we're all (well mostly) adults here, so I think we can handle it until it's cleaned up by a mod.

More than ten posts per thread page, please. That's ridiculously restrictive.

I'll implement a way to where user's can select how many posts they wish to view per page (when they're logged in). Be patient with me Ryan but I'll add it in the future.

So...I guess my idea was a "no?" :D
That's cool. It's too easy for spammers to abuse it.

There hasn't been a finalized/gold-released Shoutbox MOD for phpBB yet and to be honest, the more I see shoutboxes at other forums the more I don't want one here. This goes against policy but this is the one time I'm going to put my foot down without the other Partner's consent and say there'll never be a shoutbox here. Mainly because of spammers/spam-bots but also because it encourages spam/pointless chat and just aids to clog down the servers/bandwidth. Look at forums with shoutboxes: Most of the discussions are, well, void of meaning and having a shoutbox also detracts from the amount of posts in threads. Sorry.

I'M SORRY WHAT. IS THAT WHY YOU WON'T LOOK ME IN THE EYES DURING NOOKIE ANYMORE?!

Ryan and others: There is now an option to change how many posts are displayed per page.

Navigate:

User Control Panel > Board Preferences (tab) > Edit Display Options (side link) > Posts per page

I would suggest, if possible, for the "Save" button to be moved right when starting a thread. It seems to be very annoying to have to remember that it is there instead of "Submit". Submit, in my opinion, should always be on the left.

Most phpBB3 styles (themes) have the Submit button on the right, including the default theme that comes when installing the software. Because of this, and that phpBB3 has been out for years, it makes more sense to keep it where it is and let the few people left who aren't familiar with phpBB3 themes to become familiar with its interface than to change it on the majority who are used to it.

It's just an idea but I would like to see a marketplace trading area so that people can buy/sell/swap Silent Hill items with each other.

I agree that a chatroom would be a good idea

I dont like chatrooms - shoutboxes etc... I like posting and reading at my own pace and I like the way this place is managed too so NO I wouldn't do anything major other than subtle little changes like perhaps - color schemes for different events (ie Title release dates) or perhaps background images on particular dates (Halloween! - James and the giant Pumpkin haha) little touches like that to make people keep coming back or find that our site has more personality to it - anyway just throwing ideas out there - maybe good maybe bad I dunno - eitherway I still like it here eheh
someday you will find me - caught beneath the landslide...
